These are some of my Rosy Red Minnows, that I have. I am not sure of how many I have but it safe to say, I got in a 100′s of them.
Last spring I brought 32 of them from a pet shop up a line. They was in very hard shape. They had lumps all over them. Plus the person catching them was very rough, with them.
Within a few days of getting them 23 of them die. That left me with only nine of them.
At that time I had no idea of how to get them to spawn for me. I feed them good and got them looking good and then I try to spawn them and guess what, they spawn with no trouble.
They are a very nice little fish. They goes nuts when I feed them. They are not scared of me. I can put my hand in their aquarium and they will be all around it.
After I brought them from that pet shop, I found that one of the fish wholesaler that I was dealing with, sold them. So I brought 100 of them at wholesale price. They came but their was 30 dead ones in a bag. Within 3 or 4 days I had lost just over 80 of them. I got in another order of them and the same thing happen.
They are classed as a bait fish, so because of it most wholesaler and pet shop do not treat them right. They have feeling the same as any other fish. If you are unable to treat or look after them right, then you should not have or sell them.
