“GREEN SWORDTAIL”

XIPHOPHORUS HELLERI ( HECKEL,1848 )

WHERE FOUND:- CENTRAL AMERICA

SIZE:- 4-5 INCHES

TEMPERATURE RANGED:- 70-82F

PH:- 7.0-8.0

FOOD:- OMNIVOROUS

MY COMMENTS:- Swordtails is as most people’s today should
know, a fish that have their young born alive. This way the young have got a
head start on life, so to speak. When the young are born, they will drop to the
bottom of the aquarium. Then in a few minutes they will head for a surface of
the aquarium. Once they get to the surface, they will look for somewhere to
hide. So for this reason you should have some live aquarium plants floating on
the water surface.

“Skeeter’s Pet World Shutting Down”

October 2, 2010

Today Skeeter’s Pet World is closing it doors. They been in business for a number of years but sales had drop, so much that they had decided to shut the store down.

It always make me sad when a private own, tropical fish store shut down.

At the rate that they are closing, Nova Scotia may soon not have any private own tropical fish shops.
